This applies to all FIDE events, or what?

Re: FIDE Dress Code
Separate dress codes for women and men is outdated and offensive because not everyone falls into one of those two categories.

Re: FIDE Dress Code
"Any request to wear national or traditional dress shall be approved by FIDE supervisor."
In other words, FIDE supervisor must give approval!
I think the dress code was only intended for elite events.

And also because gendered dress codes are oppressive to everyone.

Re: FIDE Dress Code
It seems excessively complex, they should just say suit and tie for everyone - problem solved for men, women and all that fall between.
Not that a rule like this will have any impact to us on the forums anyway - no UK arbiter is ever going to want the hassle of enforcing it at the level of event we play at.

Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

In a tournament restricted to women you might think that they do.Brian Egdell wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 3:12 pmSeparate dress codes for women and men is outdated and offensive because not everyone falls into one of those two categories.

Please omit myself from your list of "everyone". I find it oppressive to be included.
Who does everyone include?

In some cases it might well be but generically it is not.
I've not consulted Richard.

What about if you are following the dress code but stepped in dogs do-do and have got s**t all over your shoes, is that allowed?

" dark coloured pants "
I meant to ask if the organisers deliberately chose a 4NCL weekend for their event?
