Soccer vs Chess

Post by AlanLlewellyn » Fri Aug 26, 2022 5:53 am

when i was young football (being a rugby fan from wales i call it soccer) was a major pull, i never went to a football match but played it a lot and watched it on tv. I know many chess players are football fans but I drifted away from football and became a strong rugby fan and chess increasingly took over my priorities. Watching chess takes some concentration and as i play lots of otb and online blitz and online long games, it takes away my ability to actually watch games. But still when theyre is a big tournament on i watch and chess documentaries and games dvds are an avid watch. I dont twitch much only sometimes when Jon Speelman is doing a live feed. Chess is so superior the in-depth knowledge and study needed to become a good player is enticing and now that i am old (51) i would have a heart attack playing soccer. Now like i said chess has taken over and soccer interest has waned and now i think chess should be as big as soccer on our tv...
