A last crack of the whip.

Post by MJMcCready » Mon Jul 11, 2022 5:51 pm

To wrap things up I made one last Kahoot and am posting it here. I remain taken aback by the level of skill shown in the other Kahoots but this time I am adamant no one is getting 100%. I've made it too difficult for that to happen. The topic of this one is Female Top 20. So basically the best 20 women in the world according to the current rating list. By all means go for a perfect score but not that this time it won't be happening. And on that note I think I will make this the last of the Kahoots.

So anyway, it's open for a month and can take up to 50 players. It's a fun few mins but maybe this one is a bit too tough.

Thanks, I gave this one a go. I'm fairly sure that number one doesn't have the correct name there (I believe it's a Georgian WGM/IM). My only guesses were two of the Chinese players but fortunately I guessed the right way around.

This would be a relief to me as the name given as the correct answer - which I did not get - was somebody I have played.

Just took a glance at the top 20 best women on fide and there are only 8 I have even heard of (and only 4 of those I actually know what they look like) so I don't think I really need to play the quiz as I already know what score I'll get (with possibly a couple of lucky guesses)
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

It was the same deal for me. When I made the game I only recognized two players. Many I had never heard of also.

I managed to get number 20 wrong, which is pretty impressive given I spent 4 hours in video call with her on Friday

I didn't do that well. I recognised about half the names, and about half of those faces (and a few lucky guesses as well), but there were too many names I knew but didn't know the faces. I would have expected any professional female chess player (and indeed some male professional chess players and coaches) to get 100% here. Just as you would expect 100% scores for the top 20 chess players in the world (not trying to tempt MJMcCready to do one more!). Thanks, Mark, for making those Kahoots. Great fun,
