Radio Interview

Post by Simon Rogers » Wed Dec 08, 2021 10:37 pm

Howdo all. Some exciting news.
Yesterday I received a phonecall from a gentleman working at BBC Radio Lancashire wanting to interview me about chess and my passion for the game.
They are doing a series about people's hobbies.
The interview was recorded this afternoon which lasted about 15 minutes
I was asked the usual stereotypical questions about chess.
The interview was with Sharon Hartley and will be apparently played tomorrow from about 12.15pm to about 12.30pm on BBC Radio Lancashire.
It will be repeated on BBC Sounds.
Perhaps someone could do a big favour for me and post the link for the interview tomorrow.
Many thanks, Simon.

That's the one, thanks Roland.
My interview is just after a Justin Bieber song.
It lasts about 5 minutes. You're looking from 2 hours 22 minutes to 2 hours 27 minutes.
The segment was titled "Passions".
Heavily edited down from 15 minutes.

Simon spoke well. "Isn't Chess boring?" (or similar) would have thrown a lot of people. The interviewer admitted to enjoying Draughts.

Thanks for your kind words Roland and Ben.
I didn't expect those questions from Sharon, I had to think on my feet.
I will probably get a chessboard out on Boxing Day, but not until late in the evening.
