Bullet isn't proper chess though, and the above just confirms it :P

Which is why I find it rather amusing that a 3500(?) rated computer thinks that White will score about 55% after 1 d4 f5 2 h4 :)
(Not that it thinks its the best move there of course! Its a seriously classical thing at times and really doesn't like the Dutch very much.).

ah yes, quite!

Though I do not specialise in 3 exd5 e4, this one has to be known to any blitz/bullet player: 4 Qe2 Nf6 5 d3 Bb4+ 6 Bd2 0-0. You get a very high rate of 7 Bxb4 exf3 8 Qxf3 Re8+ winning, because of ...Bg4 next move (or 9 Kd2 Nxd5, threatening ...Qg5+ rather than just ... Nxb4).

To be fair, although I said before about blocking people for playing obnoxious openings I would happily take on these non theory "attacks" as they are very much within the spirit of blitz - it is more likely I'd block someone for playing lines like London system, c3 Sicilian, Caro Kahn and killing the game dead.
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

I mean, the Caro-Kann contains some of the sharpest and most complex lines in opening theory!

I think it was a user on r/chess who asked, in all seriousness, how anyone could consider the Sicilian exciting when White had so many ways to sac three pieces for a forced draw.

Its certainly true that some of the "traditional" complex branches of the Sicilian have been pretty much worked out to draws with best play.

(though I note the Poisoned Pawn has had a bit of a revival in recent years)

Here's another one for your consideration.

On lichess I offered a challenge at 5+4. A player took it up and opened 1 e4 to which I responded with 1...e5. Time then passed and they didn't play a second move. After a minute or so I sent a message "please play a move". They played 2 Nf3 after about a minute and a half in total, and I responded with 2...Nc6. They then didn't play another move until they were down to 1:55 at which point they played 3 Bb5 and play proceeded normally: I realised that what they had done was set out, presumably to give themselves a challenge, to run down their clock and play a two-minute game against my five.

Yes very good mate, but I didn't offer a challenge of five minutes against two, and I didn't invite you to organise one, did I?
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

I wouldn't be hard on this; I've done similar things when playing on a train with intermittent wifi that comes and goes, where wifi effectively drops for a few minutes and then returns to a strong signal, and there is no intent to play slowly at all. Or it could happen if a child or a spouse interrupts the game for a few minutes.

Well yes, all these options and more occurred to me, but I think the specific pattern of the moves as played (also the absence of any explanation) suggests I am more likely to be right than wrong here.

Maybe you need a break from chess. It sounds like you're playing it because you identify as a chess player, not because you like it.
