"I have been tasked by her mum to try to find a Chess coach around the Cheam/Worcester park area of surrey or someone willing to travel probably 2100 plus strength but higher considered ."

I would have thought Graeme Buckley or Susan Lalic would be worth a try? They know what they are talking about...
Thanks Kevin yes I think they used to live in the Sutton area

So the next extremely talented ENG girls :

Zoe Veselow - her ECF grade is raised from 950 (11/2021) to 1577 (06/2022). She is just 8 years old !?
Bodhana Sivanandan - her ECF grade is raised from 1151 (11/2021) to 1567 ( 06/2022). She is just 7 years old !?

And another amazing results in June :

14 years old Tashika Arora - 4ncl rd .10 and 11 - a draw with IM 2309 and a win with 2157, so her FIDE currently jumped over 1900 + . If her grade will be 2000 + ( it is question of time only), she can start to play in ENG WIM norm events( were 3 in this year !! ).

Big thanks to Lorin for his SPTW activity. He helps more than 500 girls in their chess growth. It has a double value if this activity is done by the coach of the women's national team.

For me it starts to smell like a medal from ETCC .

SPTW has a big spectrum of activities. Is it possible for the SPTW to set up a public fund to specifically support that talented girls who could have trouble paying for their expenses, to which we could contribute?

"SHE PLAYS TO WIN " became true. ENG women's team coach monitors and supports your progress . Thanks to you, to your parents and to your chess clubs.

Fingers crossed for all girls - in Open section - T. Arora, A.Weersing, E.Karas , A. Subramanian and in under 2000 section - A.Kandara, Z.Veselow, B.Sivanandan .

Thank you Paul !
Fantastic results for girls in under 8 section of BBC. Bodhana the 2nd and Zoe the 3rd . Zoe even won with the winner under 8 section. Bodhana played also in Open section in Weekend tournament . 7 years old girl won with 1859 and 1919, drew with 1986 and 2013 and only lost with 2274 ?!?! We have plenty of talented girls under 18 and these two youngest ones are icing on the cake for now. Promising potential. New ratings will be shortly.

From events over the past 4 weeks or so there's been some terrific FIDE ratings gains;

U17's Georgina Headlong 149.6 points and Imogen Dicen 112 points
U16's Julia Volovich 107.6 points, Anum Sheikh 106.4 points and Abigail Weersing 76.8 points
U14's Nina Pert 120 points (nearly 200 but gave some back last weekend), and Eugenia Karas with 103.74 after a great run in Prague
U13's Anusha Subramanian catching everyone up with a 106.8 point gain

...I would think there's going to a run of new female titled players in 2023. Apologies if I've missed anyone out.

Fantastic improve in August 2022!!

l just left this in British Chess News, so l copy it only :

September 2022 - Under 8- girls - 3 ENG girls in World Top 6 - 2. Bodhana Sivanandan , 3. Zoe Veselow and 6. Yichen Zhang . It is fantastic !! Girls Under 14 - 21. Eugenia Karas 1946 , 27.Tashika Arora 1895, 53. Anusha Subramanian 1840 and 55. Nina Pert 1833 . These results in under 14 - girls are also much promising, 4 girls from ENG in the World Top 55 under 14 is great !!

And another promising girl's results - Julia Volovich + 107, Abigail Weersing +77, O.Latypova +123, Anum Sheikh in Northumbria Masters Open + 106 and sisters Jayawarna's in Northumbria Challenger - Tarini +84 and Thisumi +68 . August 2022 was amazing for girl's results . Girls go UP - English women's Chess Championship 2023 looks promising ( but NO in May or June more please- GSCE, A and AS levels and Uni exams ).

Girls have started to play in Open section and they play there well. Julia Volovich played BCC Major + 141 and Anum Sheikh Northumbria Masters Open +106.

7 years old Bodhana and her result in Chessable British Chess Championships 2022- Open Rapidplay :
https://chess-results.com/tnr661828.asp ... t=9&snr=35

She won 2159 and 2115 and then "only "drew 2225 . After that she won 1920 and again drew 1785.

"In round six (of seven), with 4/5, she was promoted to board two, facing Arkell, a legend of English chess, he of the World 50+ Teams double gold, the current fifth round British Championship leader, author of the acclaimed Arkell’s Endings, and the man who always scores with rook and bishop against rook." “I won only because of her inexperience,” he said .

GM Arkell was right, if you are 7, no much time on experience :D

With my advancing years I am having to notch a win against these later-to-be-famous kids when they are even younger. At Torquay I lost at Blitz to Bodhana - she outplayed me in an ending - and was lucky to beat Supratit from a much inferior position in the Weekender. Decades ago I downed Stuart Conquest when he was 10, but was too late v Julian Hodgson when he was 12.

After my loss to Bodhana I happened to encounter her and her father at a pizza takeaway when I was buying a bag of chips. Apparently there is no chess going on at her school. Headteacher not interested.

ECF 9/2022 rating is also out.

16 ENG girls under 18 with ECF (or FIDE ) over 1900 !

J.Volovich, A.Veersing, T.Arora, A.Somton, N. Jaufarally and N.Pert are over 2000.

N.Bridgeman, T.Rahulan, A.Sheik, E.D.Dicen, A.Subramanian, I.Dicen, E.Karas, J.Mellor, G.Headlong, A.Vyas are over 1900.
( A.Sheik for her excellent performance in Northumbria Master Open will be over 2000 in October).

From our previous records 8 girls crossed ECF 1900 in November 2021 and the same in May/2022.
8 more now - or better "double more" !!! Cheers !

Bodhana is 1852, she will join over 1900 team shortly .

Maybe someone could stage a GIBCHESS style ‘Battle of the Sexes’ next year in England? http://chess-results.com/tnr607112.aspx ... =1&flag=30

HI Everyone haven't been on here for a while but when I saw the topic about women's chess I wanted to share something with the group and need some help . One of our Junior girls has been playing chess for only around 8/9 months and is 8 years old she has just returned from the European schools tournament where she won a gold medal scoring 8 1/2 out of 9 . In my opinion I think we could have a real super star in the making here to add to the list published earlier in this topic . she is holding her own against 1600 ECF adult opposition and playing to that strength . I have been tasked by her mum to try to find a Chess coach around the Cheam/Worcester park area of surrey or someone willing to travel probably 2100 plus strength but higher considered . Zoe is a real talent that needs to be nurtured and looked after . any thoughts anyone

Paul
Zoe is really big talent. She is 8 years old and 1688 ECF . In Fide world records the 3rd girl till 8 ( although this is just statistic). Some girls start with chess later, in age 10 and more. Paul, did you find for Zoe a coach jet or she still play without coaching?
