u3a Chess League
A friend informs me, en passant, of an initiative to start a nationwide u3a Chess League in September.

Timed for weekday afternoons perhaps?
A nice initiative.

Is this the University of the Third Age? If so I believe they have done some chess activity locally (to me) but have not yet engaged with the main Harrogate CC.

John, I am not at all in the know about this. I believe over-the-board play is intended, but with the possibility of on-line play, especially for those who have no chess club in their area.
I'm sorry if I have this wrong. Perhaps another forumite has more information about the initiative.
