14.00 Online Match vs Trafalgar Square

Come and watch as children from Merseyside take on their southern counterparts (playing from our sister event in Trafalgar Square) live in an online chess challenge. Cheer on our kids as they ensure the Northern powerhouse ends triumphantly!

Strange that there should be so few comments on this forum about this event. From what little feedback I've received, it was quite a success.

Events in Trafalgar Square definitely a big success yesterday from what I saw, although definitely hot weather for those performing in the 'Live chess' and giving simuls with very little shade to be found.

Congratulations to Marcus and Peter.
It was a really good event and quite enjoyable. Juniors and adults alike had fun and some great matchups, and some may even have memories for a lifetime (mention to the little 6yo who played against Adams in R1 and lasted quite a bit).

Worth mentioning the loos which were kept incredibly clean for an event this size.

It was absolutely brilliant, even though I made a twit of myself playing Michael Adams!

Shame about the sun but couldn't be helped, will use a lot of the ideas they had for one of the clubs I am involved with.

Thanks to everyone that made it happen, and it was so lovely seeing familiar and new people :)

Thanks, John. It's much easier when the sun is shining, isn't it?

When the sun is shining directly is creates very flat lighting conditions especially for landscape work. Hence dawn or dusk are best for these kind of shoots.

However, I know what you mean!
