New books by Short & Adams
I heard on the grapevine that there are new books in the works by both Mickey Adams and Nigel Short.
I can't seem to find any further info - does anybody have any?

Yes those future titles are mentioned in the Quality Chess catalogue PDF but I suspect that document is largely aspirational.
For news of titles actually likely to materialise in the next two to six months you do better to look at their Coming Soon page and sometimes their blog.
Maybe somebody should ask in the blog when the Short and Adams titles are expected or at what stage they are in the writing/

The Quality Chess website now says that Nigel's book is due out next month in hard cover.
http://www.qualitychess.co.uk/products/ ... gel_short/
As yet there are no sample pages so typesetting is either not complete or perhaps not yet begun (in which case it could be delayed).
Nothing yet about a book by Adams.

Re: New books by Short & Adams
Hi lads,
Been in touch with Q.C. I'll be getting the Nigel Short book.
At the moment the release date for it is around about towards the end of June.
Obviously due to you-know-what (I figure if we stop naming it, then it will go away.) they could not be more specific.
Going to use Plan B. to keep purchase a secret from Mrs. C.
Next charity shop I'm in I'll remove a £3.00 sticker from one of their books, go to Glasgow,
pay for book in cash, no paper trail, scuff book about a bit and stick on the charity shop sticker.

Re: New books by Short & Adams
Thanks Tim,
The Introduction:
"This is my first book, and it has taken a global pandemic for me to write it.
Some of you may be puzzled by this statement. Dozens of tomes have been published about me,
and in a few of them, I have even been listed as the author. While it is true that I have composed,
with pleasure, many hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles, I must confess that all books
with my name on the cover – and with profound apologies to those who bought them – were all ghost-written."
If the book is full of such honesty then it's treats all around.
I have gathered the cash together and am waiting for my 'come and get it' call from Glasgow.
Hopefully by the end of June St. Nicky will not have shut us down again.

Personally I wouldn't buy anything from the Quality Chess website, at least until they fix allowing the site to load over an insecure protocol.
