Looking like this milestone should be reached in the next day or two :)

Oh you've noticed!
I was planning on keeping a careful watch so that I could get the magic post.

[PS I was going to claim the quarter million - sounds a bit grander]

I was watching the database size behind the scenes at 499.99 MiB as that is more of interest.
Cheers

"Hopefully Roger will do post 250,000"

He's probably hoping to do that on his own!

Thanks Carl and Jack. You both do a great job.
I hope it's not me that does the quarter of million post because my next four posts will sadly all be New Topics on Deaths and Obituaries. Three from the South East of England and one from the West Midlands.
Although I have also some updates on the Obscure International OTB Events Going Ahead to post.

We have a winner. Post number 250,000 was:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10834&p=256351#p256351

From Simon Rogers.
I'll have a look at some other websites that I know.
It's not over.
There is always hope.
This was posted just before but at the same timestamp (3:38 pm) as this post by Justin Horton:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11286&p=256352#p256352

That would be a better winner! :)

[Of course, some posts have been deleted in the past, so you could quibble that it is not really possible to define this precisely...]
[I'll stop following the counter now...]

I'm hoping Roger receives an MBE from the Queen in the summer for his services to chess and particularly the forum.

There's a number at the bottom of the home page?

(of course, this doesn't include posts that have been deleted for whatever reason)

oh yeah thanks, I see it now. tbh I would have thought the overall count to be much higher.
