How does the link to the ECF membership data work? If it's by grading code, new players will present a problem.
I've taken that into account already so it won't be a problem.

The good thing about using PHP or Java (for example) is that inquisitive persons cannot render the code in an HTTP client which will help to maintain their curiosity.

Also, it cannot be "borrowed on a permanent basis" by other sites!

Note the clever way in which some members expiry data has been appended into the same string that contains their membership category. Pure class! :D

I will write code to parse out the expiry date and put it where it should have been in the first place.

Slight problem here:
Anthony Fulton: Willesden & Brent .
Fulton Fulton: Willesden & Brent

I know he's a top bloke but Tony can't be allowed to be called Fulton Fulton.
I'd have a hard time not taking the piss in the pub after a match! (not to be confused with "taking a piss", which also occurs in the pub after the match!)

ECF data is the issue. He had a Gold membership expiring 6/9/12 and took out (or someone on his behalf) a Bronze membership to expire 31/8/13. The Bronze membership is in the name of Fulton Fulton

Greg,

This is a consequence of the data being received. I believe the path is:

.csv export created by PaySubsOnline from unknown source
imported into Microsoft Excel
exported in .xls format
uploaded to ECF server
downloaded by Yours Truly (well, a PHP script does it once a day ideally)
Opened in Microsoft Excel
strange left space padding removed
date format converted to YYYY-mm-dd
exported to .csv format
imported into MySQL

It is that easy!

So, we have a clear example of GIGO in some cases.

Fixtures for the London Chess League for the 2013 - 2014 season are on-line at

here :D

with one important warning: the venue information is currently misleading. :(

I am working with Brian and Vic to correct this.

This was my fault as I did not request that this column be updated in the spreadsheet sent to me by Vic: apologies.

We ought to fix this over the next 24 hours. :D

The venue errors have been corrected and R&Ts fixtures demerged from Pimlico's !

Please let me know if you spot any further errors.

Not to do with fixtures, but the "Local Events" page includes one for 26 September 2013 that shouldn't be there.
