Hopefully there will be some updates providing information about Lancashire Chess Association's plans for 2021.

One of them would be whether they've made a go/no go decision on the 2021 Blackpool Congress. With the 2020 Blackpool being an event of the last weekend before the shutdown, it would mark an anniversary of sorts were it cancelled, as would seem probable. Whilst there are plans to roll out the vaccines, there appear no published plans to lift restrictions on people meeting in parallel with vaccination.

Radio Lancashire was interviewing Blackpool B&B Owners etc. today.
Many are not expecting their businesses to survive.

i would be interested in seeing something from the LCA?
I have mention in past meeting about this and how the president should give a update etc but it the same old story about the Association and how it is run, but the president don't like change and run it with yes people. you don't see that in our league (the Manchester chess Federation) i hope that people will stand up for change and help but they won't

Does anyone know what is going on there? i mention this a long time ago, that you need to talk to the clubs and not run the association like a dictatorship.

some other areas are doing this but that is why some areas of chess is going one way and places like for example Northumberland is going forward.

Dave Clayton is planning to organise an online rapid play.
I think entries restricted to locals / previous Leyland Congress Players.

He was part of the Lancashire Junior team visit to Leningrad back in 1990 with myself, Ben Hague and Paul Heaton.
