Re: UK Open Blitz Championship
Hope it went well. Well done to Marcus Harvey for running David Howell so close (and winning their game) - was he still in contention by the last round?
I wonder what our views are about the six players under 2200 (qualifiers from much easier zones) all finishing some way below all the rest. Apparently none of them turned out to be blitz genuises, playing 300 points above their ordinary ratings, after all. Of course, if having the strongest possible event is not so important (and perhaps it isn't), then it may not matter too much.

It's not my decision now, of course, but it didn't matter to me in the slightest.Jonathan Rogers wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 12:57 pmOf course, if having the strongest possible event is not so important (and perhaps it isn't), then it may not matter too much.
