well that has all changed since you posted 30 entries...there are now an all time record (by some margin) of 52 entries headed by GM Baburin and IM Fitzsimons and a whole bunch of underrated improving youngsters in the chasing pack. I think 7 points might be enough to win the championship this year.

Wake up Martin! My post and the thread title relates to last year's championship.
You are talking about the 2024 event currently in progress.
Maybe you should start a new thread?

Fitzsimons drew with Baburin yesterday and so is probably out of danger. He has only dropped that half point so far.
He might even score 8 points though admittedly some of the juniors are very strong.

Tim, obviously a Joe Biden moment there I think Baburin will be a second favourite....too many draws and father time is not on his side anymore.
