Chester & Lakes Congresses...

Post by David Pardoe » Thu Jun 24, 2010 12:20 pm

Does anyone have any news of these events this month. Both are held at excellent venues, I believe...and both certainly merit coverage in the Diary.....publicity....?

Ever thought of checking the ECF website, the South Lakes results are up and the Calendar shows that Chester is on this weekend

I'll be at Chester tomorrow. Very much looking forward to it.

Thanks for the comments...good to see they are getting coverage and hopefully being well supported.
I know the Lakes event has been very popular in previous years, and numbers certainly look ok this year.
Hopefully not too many were put off by world cup, etc. this year....

I wasn't playing but I understand from the chesterchess.org administrator that final entries were up a bit at 128 entries.

Chester was superb as always. Definitely more players than last year and always good to see some recognisable faces.

As for my performance, the less said the better.

I popped along to Chester on Saturday. Looked a good event, with decent attendance - particularly in the lower graded sections. Nice venue too.
