2nd Glossop Chess Weekend 15-17 May 2026

The weekend started on the Friday evening with a mini simul and discussion by Keith Arkell with a dozen young players from Glossop and Stockport which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. There followed an unrated 5 round 3+2 blitz with 19 players which Keith won with 4.5/5. The main events were the 5 round Open and U1700 sections of the tournament played on the Saturday and Sunday, results below.

Sunday also saw an open invitation to local juniors to come and see what was going on - and the highlight was when young 6 year old Nyx got to play a friendly with Keith !
