Cheadle Open

I have followed up the 8.5/9 at Marienbad with a 2774 performance at the Cheadle Open, where I won all 6 games.

I think it’s fair to say that things are now moving in a good direction

Huge thanks to Sarah Longson for the generous invitation, and to the kind hearted Gareth Ellis for further support. It was a lovely tournament, smashingly organised and ticking all the boxes we chess players like to see ticked

I hope the idea of doing a weekend style tournament midweek catches on, even though in this case it gives me zero time to rest before Blackpool Open, where I’m on a hat-trick, having won there on my last two visits - back in 2012 and 2015.
