Post by Keith Arkell » Thu Jan 07, 2010 5:35 pm

I left it a bit late(ie after Hastings) to book my accom for next weekend, and was only able to secure a room for Friday and Sunday night.

If anybody can offer me the spare bed in their twin bedded room for the Saturday then please send me a private message here,or email me at
[email protected]

I am am of course happy to share the cost.

Yes, the 4NCL have apparently taken around 320 bedrooms on the Saturday night, with various non-chess visitors taking up the balance of 40 or so rooms - very inconvenient for late bookers such as Keith, but Barcelo are delighted. A big thank you to all of those who have booked rooms - good bedroom take-up is the way we continue to ensure that in return the venues give us free playing space and bedroom booking commission, on both of which we rely to keep entry fees down.

Given that Keith is probably not the only one who has been unable to book a room, I have asked Barcelo whether for combined weekends in the future we can have our allocation increased further above the 300 we currently have.
