A curious pairing in today's matches - in the triangular match board 715 is a repeat of yesterday's board 714, with colours reversed.

Indeed - I noticed that. It is one of the problems with the triangular matches, but I guess if the teams change between Saturday and Sunday, you cannot avoid it, unless the organizers allow you to fiddle the board order, which is not desirable. At least the colours were different. You just hope the Saturday game didn't end in a huge argument! Obviously triangular matches are preferable to an entire match default.

The previous weekend, one of the players met two different opponents from the same team.

I know various pairing systems can cause different problems, but isn't the general idea to play chess and have fun doing so?
I have lost count of the number of times I have travelled abroad with friends and been drawn against one of them in the first or second round.
I am not claiming that is fun (unless of course, I win), but to me worrying about it does not help matters.

One can avoid this by keeping Saturday's boards 1, 3 and 5 on odd-numbered boards (not necessarily the same ones) on Sunday - and, similarly, keeping Saturday's boards 2, 4 and 6 on even-numbered boards. Of course, if personnel change, it may be that the board order rules prevent this.

There were defaults involved in the triangular match as well, which might have had something to do with it. I think both players enjoyed the games, which is the whole point, especially in the lower reaches of Division 4.

And speaking of defaulting I was surprised to see Wessex 2 reappear after missing the first two weekends but still two players short - I had thought they had been expelled from the league already

If you look at both days' results you can see that the board 705 and 716 defaults by Crowthorne occurred on Saturday and the board 706 default by Coventry on Sunday so there weren't any missed games.
