No, it went down fine with our players, some of whom didn't want to trek down south to play; we have found this a struggle this season in Div. 3 West, and i am told that 4 of our squad have said they don't want to play next season, which is a shame
It is a shame but I suspect it will be a similar story of the 4ncl in general over the next year or two- recessions have a habit of making people cut out unnecessary expenditures and unfortunately if you have to stay over it is going to cost £50+ per game which is a lot of wasted money if you are just playing and not chasing any specific goal like promotions or titles.
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

I suspect its more the sheer (very considerable) time investment. You get most of the same issues with K/O county chess from the North and that's broadly free and only one day/weekend.

There were solid reasons for the creation of div 3N.

Final table

CSC/Kingston 1 won all 9 of the matches they played, and were promoted along with Warks 1

West is Best 2 narrowly miss out, which saves the worry mentioned upthread as West is Best 1 have been relegated to Div 2

It looks like Shrops go down despite finishing level with Barnet B and MK Phoenix 2 on points and having beaten them both, whereas neither of the others played CSC/Kingston 1 which is unfortunate, so Barnet stay up

Of course, this may alter depending on entries next season

Go down to where?
