Div 3N season 2021/22
Thought this might need a thread of its own
So far, I think we have:
Euwe's North Sea Tigers
Spirit of Atticus
I've chased up the Manchester entry, would expect 2 Manticores teams in this division rather than 3 as previously
Any news from Bradford, and anywhere else?

Re: Div 3N season 2021/22
It might, yes.
I've yet to hear anything from Jorvik, which is leaving it awfully late at best.
(I'd chase it but with me not driving and the venues not working by public transport I'm out of most of this season anyway.).
There's enough people playing in the Yorkshire league that I'd expect Bradford to enter something, they will definitely be down players.
The Stockport league isn't running, iirc, which might relate to Holmes Chapel, or might even encourage them.

I gather Bradford are only entering 1 team
We'll be entering 3, but that's only 2 teams in Div 3N

Is 12 teams the minimum required? What happens if less than the minimum enter?

I suppose there would be the possibility of merging with Central for the latter weekends, in the way we used to with Div 3S when Div 3N was started

Re: Div 3N season 2021/22
That will work if there's something like 10 teams, I guess. If it as low as 5-6 they might have to try directly combining division 3's or something.
I'm sure they'll think of something as sensible as is possible

6 you could drop it to 10 rounds and have a double-round all-play-all.

Whilst praying that none of the teams have to miss a weekend or withdraw altogether.IM Jack Rudd wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 5:06 pm6 you could drop it to 10 rounds and have a double-round all-play-all.

Also - do the economics with the hotels still work if it goes that low? Hopefully all moot!

Re: Div 3N season 2021/22
Bolton & Worsley are entering a team, but 3Cs won't have a team in Div 3N
So that's maybe 6 teams

I'm told there are 8 teams in Div 3N, including the Manticores 2nd and 3rd teams

Re: Div 3N season 2021/22
That's 6 known I guess. Wonder who makes 8? 8 is sort of enough to run as a competition by itself, if suboptimal.
It looks like there isn't actually promotion from Div 3 this season (or did I miss it?), so that isn't a worry.

Ah. I can see why people would want to retain it of course, but I do wonder. The teams - and players in them - (in 3N at least) for this season don't really bear much resemblance to those you'd expect to see next season.
Difficult of course!
