You mean as unlikely as:-
We expect to publish Covid guidelines for the new season a couple of weeks before the first weekend of the new season given the present uncertainty about whether HMG guidance/rules in place at the moment will remain as they are or become more stringent
Now circulated to captains and soon to appear on the website.
Here they are for the benefit of Forum readers:-
Covid Arrangements
1. A risk assessment will be carried out by Guaranteed Events and signed off with the hotel.
2. Masks will be strongly recommended but not mandatory.
3. Players are encouraged to use the NHS England tracing app QR codes available at each venue.
4. Players should not attend a weekend if they are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms (as outlined on the Public Health England website:
www.gov.uk/coronavirus) or if they are required to self-isolate following a visit abroad during the 14 days preceding the weekend.
5. Personal possessions in the playing areas should be kept to a minimum.
6. Hands should be sanitised before and after handling personal possessions.
7. Hand sanitiser and masks will be available for players’ use.
8. Players will be expected to leave the playing area as soon as their game is complete having reported the result and not re-enter the playing area until the start of the next round without an arbiter’s permission.
9. Players may not leave the table at which they are playing except for comfort/refreshment etc breaks and to leave the playing area at the end of their game. Specifically, players may only spectate at games in their match and only while their own game is in progress.
10. Players may not be accompanied into the playing area by anyone else before the start of play for each round, with the exception of juniors who may be accompanied by parents/guardians.
11. To avoid players gathering around printed pairing sheets, pairings will be displayed on
www.4ncl.co.uk and printed pairing sheets will not be provided. Players will be expected to look up their pairings using their mobile phones or another electronic device before they enter the playing area. Match cards and name cards will be provided at the end of match rows and on tables respectively in the playing areas.
12. No spectators will be allowed in the playing areas.
13. An enhanced cleaning regime will be in place, sufficient for pre/during/post event use.
14. Where possible, playing area windows and doors into the playing areas will be kept open during play.
15. Equipment, tables and chairs will be sanitised at the end of each round.
16. The 4NCL reserves the right to amend the above arrangements during the course of the 2021-2022 season in the light of any changes to HMG rules and guidelines.
