So contributors can post in this season's thread rather than 2025-26. I leave it to those who have already posted there to possibly add their posts here.

He gets demolished rapidly.

The game didn't start until about 3 o'clock so presumably Alex was one of the many caught up in train cancellations/delays.

I'm glad the time control is faster than it used to be. 180 moves over the weekend was a bit much for me - but it makes a difference to finish by 5pm on the Sunday at least.

It's also helpful for having the Saturday night team meal at a relatively civilised time.

It would have been a lot worse if you hadn't successfully defended R+B v R for 49 moves.

Absolutely! I feel 0/2 would've been harsh but it can easily happen. Certainly I'd be feeling much more tired if I had lost.

It's great to have Gawain back in the Sharks, and it looks like another interesting season ahead. Obviously Wood Green are the team to beat as always!

It's not obvious to me with David Navara to add to Gawain to boost a top order that already scores well against my teams!

I assume he wasn't playing Keith Arkell then!

we could also try prompting Nick Burrows for his reaction to his team's debut in division one!

As debut weekends go for promoted teams that was one of the more memorable!
