I don't actually have any issues with how OTB is handled but how online cheating is handled is the main concern for me. Personally, I have felt that online cheating...

Re: FIDE approve Online Chess Regulations
There is a lot here even an offer from FIDE to provide a free lawyer if those accused of cheating cannot afford one! Where is that? My apologies, I didn't check this properly before I put the post out. This was not in the regulations but merely a demand that someone asked for in response to para 4 ...

Thought I'd start a new thread with this major announcement regarding FIDE regulating online chess. Here is the press release which contains a pdf of the new regulations. There is a lot here even an offer from FIDE to provide a free lawyer if those accused of cheating cannot afford one!

Re: Media comments on chess
Very nice clip from 1966, but who is Jonathan? I'm informed that the little boy with the toffee apple who is playing Martin Bell is Jonathan Christopher Benjamin who passed away in 2000. If it is him, I remember him when I was just starting to play chess and there are games of his on the database. ...

Re: (Chess) Life Returning To Normal
Yeah its a realistic decision by the Southend organisers I would think. Yesterdays Covid numbers were very scary and its little wonder that no one would want to organise a tournament in roughly 12 weeks time with a very good chance it would be cancelled anyway. The vaccines are unlikely to arrest th...

Here is his last round game If they detected engine assistance it could well have been in the opening and early middle game. Those Botvinnik English positions arise time and time again and are usually very similar. Plenty of ground for in depth investigation of middle game ideas and let's repeat, c...

Interview by the Times of Malta on Charlie Storey who is living in Malta at the moment and intends to run a Masters Tournament in Sliema starting this Saturday. I've just had a look at the obits section Simon and I'm shocked at the number of people who have died this year. Have to say a magnificent job done by you to list as many as you have. Thank you.
