I will watch it again. Instead of the nfl show. Toby Maguire was good in Spiderman. Too many repeats in 10 months.
I thought Liev Schreiber was an excellent Spassky.

FIDE providing an aid package for Open tournaments of 100,000 euros. "Open tournaments represent a very important integral part of the entire chess community eco-system. It helps young players to grow, it provides bread and sometimes butter for hundreds of 2500-2700 players, and it represents a very...

Re: Could Hybrid events save English chess?

The FIDE President comments on Hybrid Chess. "Dear chess friends, I would like to clarify FIDE's intentions and goals regarding the introduction of the newly adopted regulations for Online Chess, and in particular, for what we have named "Hybrid format". First, there was an unambiguous demand for a ...

Re: (Chess) Life Returning To Normal

Sounds like good value to me. I didn't realise you were in there, Chris. You will be the first person I will rescue. I've noticed Charlie has not posted since 1st January. I'm guessing he is busy adding a new wing on his troll prison or building a second prison. Perhaps on the island of Gozo. I'm n...

I thought Charlie must be 60 on football claims last time I spoke to him.
I hope Malta goes well.
Definitely 50 according to his FIDE profile

Re: (Chess) Life Returning To Normal

Happy 50th Birthday Charlie Storey. I didn't realise he was that young. There is a couple of pictures of him in the British Chess News dated 18th January. Although John U has not posted the topic in the Birthdays and Anniversaries Category yet. To celebrate his half century, I wonder if Charlie wil...

Re: (Chess) Life Returning To Normal

Chess going on in Malta organised by one of the few rated FIDE players Clarence Psaila. Clarence told ne a while ago that Charlie Storey (who was 50 a couple of days ago) would have a tough time getting international chess going in Malta as they see chess as a kids game like Ludo. Anyway Clarence di...

Re: Lubomir (Lubosh) Kavalek (Czech: Lubomír Kaválek, August 9, 1943 - January 18, 2021)

I remember reading Kavalek's notes to the Gufeld game in a book whose title I've forgotten. He said something along the lines that he felt really connected that day and knew before the game something amazing was going to happen. Murray Chandler posted a nice tribute on social media: "Sad news of the...

I think a lawyer could understand this How about a synopsis? I'm unaware that legal processes require sitting through hours of poor quality utube material. At Matthew's insistence I did watch it all and very interesting it is too. Basically the main thrust is the high percentage of matching of Magh...
