Re: Supratit Banerjee
As an ECF member I'm not feeling particularly proud of this transfer. Are you suggesting the ECF encouraged or facilitated the transfer in some way (beyond refusing to accept it, as I assume a federation would have the right to do for an undesirable player)? So what, either way? According to the FI...

I suspect asking several actresses (if we are allowed to use that term) will provide the responses you seek.Derek Sinclair wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 2:04 pmI know it depends on the position but what piece do you prefer.

As you would probably imagine not everyone was massively pleased with this turn of events. Chess Scotland: Federation Transfer Update Chess Scotland regrets to announce that Supratit Banerjee, one of the top players in the world for his age, has transferred federations from Scotland to England. Re: Supratit Banerjee
Do we know who is responsible for paying the transfer fee?
The player, the NGB or some combination of the two.
I suspect that the ECF would pay for myself to transfer to any other NGB.

An excellent point: is there an 4NCL archivist? I think I know the answer.John Foley wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 11:52 amIt is only a matter of time until 4NCL historians produce Chess Family Trees.

Re: Opponents who "helpfully" write their name on your scoresheet
One way to raise ones opponents blood pressure is to enter the name of the opening incorrectly on a score sheet that has a field for it. To hit the jackpot you could record the score (result) of the game at the beginning in one's own favour. Hopefully someone will explain which FIDE rule is being br...

Re: Opponents who "helpfully" write their name on your scoresheet
My cynical assumption, if an opponent asks me to spell/write my name, is that he has prepared against me very carefully ... but is trying to conceal this fact. A friend of mine (yes there are some) revealed that his opponent was perturbed to discover that he had in fact prepared for Ben Purton rath...

Re: 4NCL 2023-24 Division Three Knights
Talking of CSC/Kingston it occurs to me that this very team has morphed from its original team name in 4NCLs 31 year history more than any the team. AFAIK, the time line (except that I have omitted the seasons) is this: Cavendish (Team Manager: Kenny Harman) became AMCA (aka Andrew Martin Chess Acad...

I have no idea but I'm confident that someone somewhere has found the time in their life to describe someone as the world's most handsome GM.
