Re: (Chess) Life Returning To Normal

Never been to Blackpool chess club, but did play at Poulton once, not sure what competition and who for though; I do remember I was on the white side of an Alekhine, so must have been 30 years ago before I gave up with e4 Blackpool closed over a decade ago, probably longer. Their last venue was the...

Re: British Championship Congress 2021

Pure conjecture and somewhat bereft of evidence. I have received several inquiries over recent months asking when chess will resume including from somebody new who was quite insistent he was kept up to date. I doubt organisers of on-line events are getting similar correspondence. On-line has a part...

I'm not sure the Italians would consider this an obscure event. But I think we should keep the thread going until the Scottish Championship is announced so we can troll Alex.
Alex scares me too much.
He looks and sounds like Prince Vultan from Flash Gordon.

Re: British Championship Congress 2021

The owner of Wetherspoons, Tim Martin, lives in the Isles of Scilly, whether his mansion is big enough to hold it, that I don't know. Also I don't think there is currently any restrictions down there.

Could somebody amend the title of this thread to insert the missing t?
I think the person who started the thread wanted it separate from the other British Chess Championships 2021 topic and to talk about sunny Blackpool and what it has to offer.
