Re: ECF Finance Meeting

Online chess is predominantly free ....an "Online Membership" category may be a possible short term solution. I thought they had already done this. You aren't allowed to play in ECF online graded events unless a "supporter" of the ECF which is charged at £ 10 a year. ECF- and 4NCL-organised online ...

Re: ECF Finance Meeting

Over the board chess as generally known isn't going to be possible in the UK until such time as freedom of movement and freedom of association are restored. Doom mongers in SAGE seem to want to retain restrictions for ever, not withstanding a supposedly successful vaccine campaign. ......looks like...

Re: (Chess) Life Returning To Normal

CZECH TOUR 2021
The festivals in Prague and Marienbad were postponed due to corona crisis development in the Czech Republic.
New dates are:
16—23 April 2021 for Marienbad Open
4 April — 1 May 2021 for Prague Open

I doubt travel from the UK will be possible.

My 2nd copy of NIC (#1 of 2021) has just dropped through the letter box but still no sign of the "free" book.
The free book may be an electronic (eBook) version.

Re: New in Chess & BREXIT

"How critical they will be in issue 2021/2 about Magnus's dreadful Wijk aan Zee result may give a clue, but such things may take longer to really affect what appears between the covers, for example if and when the present editor retires and Play Magnus gets a say in appointing his successor. Hopeful...
