Pulling in more titled players is good, but unless they're actually good enough for them to make the national team, you want them not to transfer to England. Easier to run norm tournaments that way!

It's difficult to tell the flags apart at that resolution, but I think the list there has three New Zealand flags and one Australian (Gary Lane being the latter).

I can think of two English GMs who transferred to other federations: Matthew Turner (to Scotland) and David Norwood (to Andorra).

I once won a tournament with the Reversed Swiss Gambit: I won in round 1, while the rest of the top 5 seeds all either took a bye or drew their game, and so I managed to win my games against weaker opponents while they were busy taking points off each other.
