Re: Puzzles

OK, let's look at the prime factorizations of those:

-101250000: - (2^4 * 3^4 * 5^7)
-1728000: - (2^6 * 3^3 * 5^3)
-4900: - (2^2 * 5^2 * 7^2)
360: 2^3 * 3^2 * 5
675: 3^3 * 5^2
200: 2^3 * 5^2

Nothing obvious springs out there.

The Lomonosov tablebases confirm that that move wins and is the only winning move.

Re: Proposed reorganisation

It's difficult to find solutions, because the problem is intrinsic to the nature of the setup: multiple lower divisions feeding into one higher division creates promotion bottlenecks.

Re: Briish Championship Congress 2021

Bournemouth is classified as SW for chess purposes, not that it really matters.

Re: Membership Renewal

It wouldn't be difficult to send an Open team to international events even on no budget; I'm sure five players could be found who would be willing to self-fund. Probably not five particularly strong players, but hey ho.

Re: Unofficial British Bullet and Blitz Senior Championships 28th February 2021

Keith Arkell won the Blitz with 6/7. Lawrence Cooper was second with 5½; Jim Plaskett and Ben Gedig equal third with 5. Here's some typical stuff from Keith that started it all off: [Event "Live Chess"] [Site "Chess.com"] [Date "2021.02.28"] [Round "?"] [White "KeithArkell"] [Black "BenDGedig"] [Res...

That might be so, but the chances of drug testing in the British Championships are, let us say, remote.
