Re: London Chess Classic 2023

At the end of round 4 Adams is leading on 3/4, half ahead of Gukesh, Niemann & Moussard. Nikita & Shreyas are on 1.5 & Luke is on 1.

Re: Major investment to transform future of English chess announced

Or is the idea that an individual brings a set and sits there waiting to tempt some passing stranger. What could possibly go wrong? I think it is like a lot of similarly hare brained schemes involving chess- the "ideas man" thinks how fun and erudite it looks to have people playing chess in a park,...

Is Volokitin generally in time trouble, or was today's game especially complex? He's lost

Gukesh move 26 looks like a mistake
Yes 26 Rd2 instead of Qd4 looks like a full point swing.

He was in huge time trouble yesterday well before move 20.

Re: London Chess Classic 2023

Shreyas wins. Great result and well done. Tabby did seem to rather ask for it in the ending with 44 ...g5. You have to just sit and wait for White to find the winning plan in endings such as this but it's very unpleasant. It was the top engine move. It looked rather committal but understandable to ...

2150+ female player needed for WIM round robin in France Dec 26th-30th

I am Benjamin MARRET. I am organizing a round robin WIM tournament in Rouen (Normandy, France) from December 26th til December 30th. Did she do anything during her tenure?
Are you familiar with the Cambridge International Open? She was both tournament director and chief arbiter. She was also very helpful in my dealings with her whilst in the post.

''Niemann's performance is out of this world, but we have no definite proof that he is cheating. We have some indications, but we don't know if anyone wants to report him.'' I'm no legal expert but I suspect that's defamatory enough for HN to take legal action. What are the indications? I've heard ...

Re: 2024 Candidates qualification revised process

FIDE Circuit leader board updated Giri 84.31 So 83.40 Gukesh 79.50 (playing London) Erigaisi 71.56 (playing Gashimov Memorial) I think that the London Chess Classic is not relevant here: even if Gukesh were to win, he would gain an insignificant number of FIDE Circuit points (less than 0.2). He wou...
