Yes, it was a bitter pill to swallow, even for the biased commentators. IM Daniel Rensch seemed to be in denial, to the very end.

My guess is that Carlsen will not play again in December. They'll make this announcement at the last possible minute. He'll be too 'tired' after his re-match in the world championship, as he was last time. Anand might also be too tired to play after getting another thrashing.

Does anyone know who the last two players are who will take part in this event? This major event starts on Wednesday. Is there any reason why their names have not been announced?

My tickets for the 12th arrived on Monday the 25th, thank you. I'm really looking forward to this event. I've been, with friends, to three of the last four events and they have all been good games.
