But when the ECF is flexing its muscles with its considerable reach/resources/contact list etc maybe it should take a moment to consider how its actions affect others who are already doing a lot of good work. My guess would be that the ECF picked this week because it is the school half-term week in England and Wales, and they'd have enough schoolchildren interested in entering for that to be an important consideration.

Why on earth is the ECF launching a tournament like this that clashes with Scarborough, one of the longest running and best tournaments that we have?

This is obviously going to detrimentally affect Scarborough in the higher sections?
