The old version (with red surround) was pretty good.
Might I suggest they put this back on the original URL until the new version is readable on Android.

Need ECF LMS website
Hi, anyone know if they're working to improve the new ECF LMS website? Have accessed the new, and it looks a mess on my android phone.

Re: Alternative methods for recording the game
Admiitedly they don't seem to deal with the precise issue raised in this thread. This situation doesn't seem to be explicitly catered for. We have decided to allow the player to play without having to keep score, but deduct 5 minutes from the clock (we play 75 mins for 30 moves). I'm hoping that lo...

Re: Alternative methods for recording the game
Thanks for your replies! I've found that the player has a speech condition that would prevent use of a dictaphone (eg; thinks c4 but says z8), so it's looking like some sort of technology would need to be used. For club chess (at least), I was thinking maybe a sensory board that gave a display that ...

Alternative methods for recording the game
Our club has a player returning from an illness who wants to take up the game again. However, he will be unable to record the moves - which is stated as necessary in the rules. His wife has offered to record for him, but has no knowledge of the games and may struggle. He will want to play in our clu...

Re: ECF Game Fee v Membership
I have a question that I'm not sure about (have tried to look around for this stated somewhere): If a County Association is paying game fees, then is it the case that any direct members (individuals within that county) have already paid their game fees through their membership, and therefore, that g...

Thank you!
We'll consider this in our proposals for the constitution.
Cheers,
Tim.

Affiliation to ECF
Sorry, I have a bit of a boring and simple question.
We're working on the wording of our counties constitution.
Just want to ask, are the counties affiliated to the ECF?
My county is Suffolk.
Just wanted to check that this wording is correct.

Re: British Championship Thread
Just to point out, you are taking in only the opposition so far. Should Conquest win the title he is likely to have played Howell and Williams. Likewise, if Howell loses (to Conquest) then he will then have lower ranked players. After 11 rounds, the winners run-in would look more favourable than pre...

Re: British Championship Thread
Today's update on the Seniors. With eight players tied for the lead on 3½ out of 5, some hopes were expressed last night that the top four boards should all be drawn in order to allow some of the players on 3 out of 5 a chance to catch up with the leaders in advance of the last round. Boards 2, 3 ...

Re: When is the new grading list coming out?
Not quite on topic but.. when the new list comes out, will it have the old grade calculated? Many people will be able to accurately calculate it from the listings sent recently, but not everyone receives one. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has been tring to break a personal milestone for years...

Re: Default Times
The rule for my tournaments is a half-hour re-pairing time and a one-hour default time. If you turn up between the re-pairing and default times and cannot be re-paired, you get a half-point bye. I wondered if it might be odd to have a re-pairing and NOT default the late person (if turn up between r...

Re: Players playing above their sections in congresses
I once played a player in an open who was 120 grading point less then me! (me 160's, they 40 something). Surprisingly , the player had entered the u100's of the same tournament the year before and not done too well. The game ended in around 10-12 moves, though not without incident. My opponent after...
