That is a good point. There are many leagues which have some sort of board order rule based on grading. Hopefully these regulations are buried so deep that Matthew Carr and Brian Valentine will be unable to find them, or at least not feel like searching for them.

But Michael we've been forewarned because of the request to alter the k-factor for those with short arms.

The current database will be turned off and the vast majority of the data will be transferred to the new system. For obvious reasons the new system will not be built to calculate Clarke grades. Hence the need to get the data right before the August update.

Adrian Elwin and I have agreed that we will look at an appropriate set of comparable standards when the new rating system is up and running.
