Re: British Championship Congress 2021

Anyway I am deferred until 2022 so I hope to see many of you then and there. Don't worry I am sure the ECF will find some why in 2022 of saying its unsafe I think we are in danger of losing a whole generation of young players this decision is farcical . Most of us cant wait o get back to playing OT...

Re: (Chess) Life Returning To Normal

Just received from the 4NCL: I’m very pleased to say that we’ve booked 4-star conference centre hotel Woodland Grange in Leamington Spa for our 25th 4NCL Congress on 9-11 July 2021. This will be our first OTB 4NCL congress since the start of 2020 if restrictions are indeed lifted on 21 June as we a...

Re: (Chess) Life Returning To Normal

I saw that this has come through today, which probably suggests that chess might only be an activity in Tier 1 under the Rule of 6. So at the moment that’s just Cornwall really. Apart for under 18 activities which are exempt in all Tiers. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-grassroots-...

" I am not a Fide arbiter only a national arbiter but there was of course 2 Fide arbiters on site one of which agreed with my decision" Does that mean 1) the other one disagreed, or 2) that you only asked one? I only asked one as the other was playing I am trying to get norms to move to a higher le...

I think this would only apply if the device was switched off if just found to be on their person and not declared but clearly off yes a lesser a penalty such ...

Re: (Chess) Life Returning To Normal

I would class it as 8 to 10 groups of 2 as one match per table all tables 3 mts apart and even both players are more than 2mts apart not touching any pieces that the other player has touched
